Join the Healthy Futures’ movement and inspire Alaska youth to become physically active for life!
Our vision is a healthier, happier Alaska. With core programs such as the Healthy Futures Activity Log and support for youth recreational events, Healthy Future empowers elementary-age youth to develop the habit of daily physical activity through positive fitness experiences. Alaska’s overweight and obesity rate for children age 10 to 17 is 33.9%*
Schools play a major role in helping to address the alarming childhood obesity rates; however, they cannot solve this problem alone. The media, businesses leaders and influential adults including parents, physicians, caregivers and educators share the responsibility. We all have a stake in this issue, and now is the time to step up our understand why it’s important to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Communities united in this mission will be the most successful in the nationwide health initiative to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic. Healthy Futures receives no municipal, state or federal funding, and relies on in-kind or financial donations to operate core programs for 10,000 to 15,000 kids annually. With your help, we will further our reach and impact the health and quality of life in Alaska. Active kids mean Healthy Futures!

Adopt-an-event Program
Healthy Futures supports more than 40 youth recreational events happening throughout Alaska each year. All of our efforts are aimed at increasing youth attendance and ensuring youth have meaningful and positive experiences, especially our first-time participants.
Through sponsorships and in-kind donations, Healthy Futures provides participant medals bibs, promotions and advertising support, course materials, volunteers and FUN!
We succeed when each child who crosses the finish line feels like a champion. The experience is as rich and rewarding for the volunteer handing over their medal as it is for the child.
Healthy Futures Adopt-an-event is an inaugural program, meant to provide meaningful experiences for sponsors who would like to see first-hand the impact their contributions to Healthy Futures make.
As a sponsor of Healthy Futures, we invite you to take an active role in an event(s) of your choice. First, come first serve – no matter what sponsorship level. Your role can be as minimal as arranging volunteers to hand out medals and encouraging staff to attend with their own kids, to helping grow youth attendance and finding creative ways to make the event more fun. The additional benefit will be greater exposure and direct access to your core audiences and decision-makers.
